Just a Week Left till the Greatest Lithuanian Festival in Zarasai – GALAPAGAI / ROCK NIGHTS
GALAPAGAI / ROCK NIGHTS starts the countdown before opening its 10th festival edition this year. On the 3rd and 4th August, an island in Zarasai will be crowded with the admirers of quality music and entertainment from all over Baltics.
“We are also looking forward to meeting guests from Latvia in Zarasai – this is why for the 10th anniversary year of the festival the inhabitants of Daugavpils have an exclusive opportunity to purchase festival tickets at an exceptional price – only Ls 13 for two days and two nights. We are expecting also families with children, as GALAPAGAI / ROCK NIGHTS – it is not just about music. In its nature, the festival encompasses entertainment and leisure activities for the whole family in one of the most beautiful places of Lithuania. Festival guests are invited to enjoy a lot of different water sports and other activities. One may play poker, attend different workshops, climb the rocks, try out extreme sports, stay at the outdoor library, etc.”, says festival producer Algirdas Barniskis-Bleka.
According to A. Barniskis-Bleka, GALAPAGAI / ROCK NIGHTS has the biggest headliner ever this year. It is the electronic music production duo “Chase & Status” from Great Britain. “Chase & Status” became one of the biggest selling artists in the UK in 2011 selling over 1 million singles in the UK alone. The Prodigy, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Rihanna admit they are big fans of “Chase & Status”.
““Chase & Status” are really big now; they have won a lot of awards and gained international acclaim. Only once they have bowed down this year. They lost the best British band award to Coldplay during Brit Awards”, – smiles A. Barniskis-Bleka.
GALAPAGAI / ROCK NIGHTS will take over 4 stages. “Chase & Status” is performing on the main stage at the festival opening night. Here we will see also the industrial metal band “Oomph” from Germany, and different Lithuanian hip hop and rock stars will be playing there, as well.
Also Latvian bands will be performing both on the main and alternative stages: “Dzelzs Vilks” who won the best rock album of the year in Latvia; for the second time in this festival we will meet also the band “Laime Pilnīga”; the band acclaimed to be the best live rock music act – „Sanctimony”, we will experience a great comeback, too – the band “The Factor”, etc. All in all, the festival will be attended by more than 40 bands and DJs from such countries as Great Britain, Germany, Baltic countries, Belarus, etc.
In Daugavpils, festival tickets can be purchased at the trade centre “SOLO” (9, Rīgas Str.) and the trade centre “Ditton Nams” (60, Cietokšņa Str.). As it was already mentioned above, in Daugavpils the tickets will be available at a special price – only Ls 13. The number of these tickets is limited. Children up to the age of 10 have free entrance. Those festival participants who do not want to go to the festival by their own means are offered a possibility to take a special bus, placing a prior notice by the phone 654 04915 (or at the hotel Park Hotel “Latgola”, 46, Ģimnāzijas Str., Daugavpils), the cost of the bus tour is Ls 1,50; for children up to the age of 12, retired and disabled people – Ls 1).
